Investigating the effect of women's employment on couple separation and family breakdown

Abstract

The family is the most important element of human society and women have important responsibilities as husband and mother. Therefore, the family and related issues, especially the activity of women in the outdoor environment, which is related to society, is considered as an important issue by thinkers because one of the most important duties of women in any society is their role and responsibility to the family. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of women's employment on the collapse of the family and the question that arises in this regard is whether women's employment has an impact on the separation of couples and the collapse of the family or not? The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data collection method is library. Finally, by examining this issue, we came to the conclusion that women play an important role in the social development of any society by nurturing the next generation, and women's employment is also very important as a social phenomenon because it uses women's talent. And the cultural and economic development of society and creates welfare and financial independence for women. In contrast, it significantly increases unemployment among men and diminishes the role of women in the home environment, and ultimately increases the demand for divorce by couples. Employment and financial independence of women do not cause the collapse of the family foundation, but create the ground for differences between couples and the collapse of the family foundation.

Keywords: Women's employment, collapse, family foundation

Conclusion

Studies on women's employment and its effects on the collapse of the family have led to the following conclusions: that Islam does not preclude the principle of women's employment, and in the early days of Islam, women participated in certain activities and received wages, such as trade, childcare, Shepherding and ... But Islam has forbidden the presence of women in some occupations such as judging, jihad and propaganda, and the reason for this is that these occupations are in conflict with the spirit and emotions of women. Employment of women in the common sense today, which is working outside the home, in addition to the negative effects on the body and mind of women, including reduced physical strength, loss of feminine spirit and traits, and stress and anxiety due to being away from children during working hours. Entering outside the home also has a negative effect on the family for a number of reasons. Including creating a lot of psychological stress due to responding to their clients and employers in their work environment, which causes double fatigue of women and transfers this fatigue to the home environment and ultimately creates problems in performing their motherly and marital roles and duties. Another harm and negative impact is leaving children in kindergartens and the couple's parents to take care of their children. This creates a kind of dichotomy in the child's upbringing in education, role modeling and their educational and personality values in the future, and from economic aspects, it also causes more financial costs to the family. Also, talking and consulting with their co-workers at work makes them reluctant to talk at home with their spouse, which reduces their verbal and emotional communication with their spouse at home and unwittingly leads them into a spirit of leadership. It increases dramatically and sets the stage for the collapse of the family foundation and the increase in the number of emotional divorces and finally the demand for the separation of couples from each other. What can be offered as a solution and suggestion in this regard is that higher education does not conflict with the lack of employment of women. If this issue is politicized and institutionalized in the society, the fact that women do not work outside the home will never reduce their social status. In their spare time, they study in the field of science and provide valuable research. This makes the society also have worthy spouses for the family, mothers who are aware of the educational issues of their children, and intellectuals who are interested in current moral, cultural and economic issues.
